James G. Cecil (1836 — 1892) had a ranch north of Davis. Came to Yolo County in 1867. Started with a quarter section, then added 320 acres and then a ranch of 123 acres.
Was married to Miss Eliza Lindsay who survived him.
Member of Davis Presbyterian Church.
